Six Spins on the Classic G & T

The classic Gin & Tonic, born in the 19th century when British officials in malaria-prone regions blended quinine with gin to create tonic water, has evolved into a beloved cocktail. Let's commemorate this day by giving a modern spin to this timeless favorite. Try any (or all) of these Gin & Tonic recipes this weekend! 

Jalapeño Cucumber Gin & Tonic


Ingredients:

  • 2 oz gin
  • 4 oz tonic water
  • 1/2 oz lime juice
  • 2 Jalapeño Rounds (cut a jalapeno into 1/2-inch rounds)
  • 2 Cucumber rounds (peel and cut a cucumber into 1/2-inch rounds)


Instructions:

  1. In a shaker muddle together Lime Juice, jalapeño rounds, and cucumber. Fine strain into a double old-fashioned glass.
  2. Add ice to the top of the double old- fashioned glass.
  3. Pour in gin and tonic water.  
  4. Stir with a bar spoon and serve. 
      Optional: garnish with a cucumber peel or jalapeño garnish.


Citrus Spice Gin & Tonic


Ingredients:

  • 2 oz gin
  • 4 oz tonic water
  • 1 slice grapefruit
  • A few slices of ginger
  • 1 sprig rosemary


Instructions:

  1. Fill an old-fashioned glass with ice.
  2. Pour gin over ice and top with tonic water.
  3. Add a slice of grapefruit and a few slices of fresh ginger. Garnish with a sprig of rosemary.

Berry Bliss Gin & Tonic

Instructions:

  1. Fill an old-fashioned glass with ice.
  2. Pour gin over ice and top with tonic water.
  3. Drop in a handful of fresh berries.
  4. Garnish with a twist of lemon.

Herbal Infusion Gin & Tonic


Ingredients:

  • 2 oz gin
  • 4 oz tonic water
  • Assortment of herbs (basil, thyme, or lavender)


Instructions:

  1. Fill an old-fashioned glass with ice.
  2. Pour gin over ice and top with tonic water.
  3. Infuse your G&T with herbs.
  4. Garnish with a matching herb sprig.

Tropical Paradise Gin & Tonic


Ingredients:

  • 2 oz gin
  • 4 oz tonic water
  • 2-3 pineapple slices
  • mint leaves


Directions:

  1. Fill an old-fashioned glass with ice.
  2. Pour gin over ice and top with tonic water.
  3. Add slices of pineapple and a few mint leaves.
  4. Garnish with pineapple wedge.

Garden Gin & Tonic


Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 oz Citadelle Jardin d'été Gin
  • 4 oz tonic water
  • 1 1/2 oz Citadelle Jardin d'été gin
  • 1/2 oz vermouth
  • 2 dashes orange bitters
  • Tonic water, to top
  • Garnishes: cucumber slice, grapefruit wheel, lavender sprig, lemon wheel and strawberry


Instructions:

  1. Add the gin, vermouth and orange bitters to a goblet or wine glass and fill with ice.
  2. Top with tonic water.
  3. Garnish with a cucumber slice, grapefruit wheel, lavender sprig, lemon wheel and strawberry.
