A premium Syrah from Château Mercians Mariko vineyard, and part of the Mariko region, which was the territory of Prince of Mariko, son of Kinmei Emperor in the late 6th century. Dark in colour with purple hues. It has a rich peppery aroma, which is considered characteristic of Syrah from cooler regions, combined with the complex harmony of violet fragrances and berry fruits such as raspberry, cherry and blackcurrant, and followed by oak-derived aromas of bitter chocolate and vanilla. After the rich acidity, the fine tannins and fruit nuances, it gives way to a wine with perfect balance of fruit and acidity. Go for that beef fillet or roasted spareribs with a sticky sauce or even a lentil stew.
